Ralph and I went on a bus trip this past weekend to Nashville to watch the UGA Women's Basketball team play Vanderbilt. I kept watching the weather all last week and Nashville and the lower Tennessee area was suppose to get a lot of freezing rain and snow. I was a little concerned going over the mountains to get to Nashville, but in talking with the bus company they said it was the driver's call on whether to go or not, so I figured that if the bus driver thought he could do it he would. And he did, the weather wasn't as bad as predicted I don't think but it was cold -- 11 degrees in Nashville. And, there was snow on the ground. It was nice to see snow.....I miss it sometimes living in the south. And, of course, all of you know that I miss ice skating even more!
The best part of the weekend is that we won the basketball game. We needed win. Now I have to rest for a few days. That took a lot out of me!

Please allow me to introduce myself. I retired from DuPont Savannah River Plant in 1988. I was already in real estate business part time and went full time after I retired. I worked four years and was having a ball doing what I always wanted to do full time. About this time, my wife was diagnosed with Alzheimer's Disease in May 1994. It wasn't hard for me to decide what I was to do, I simply closed up my business to come home to take care of her. It's been a long journey and I never regreted it. I do all the hands on, no one has ever feed or bathed her since day she was diagnosed. I have been reading some of your involvements and I can honestly say, you are someone special to be able to do what you are doing. I cannot apprehend knowing how this Alzheimeter's Disease effects a person and you doing all these things that I read about you. It's without a doubt that God is in your life leading you through. You are such strong advocate for the Alzheimer's Association and people. You are no less that a wonder woman. I stand and salute you for all your acheivements, may God continue to bless you today and always as you continue your journey.
I live in Evans, Ga., I planned to visit the Syposium Overview at Fort Gordon. I will have only time enough for your presentation at 10:40 - 11:30 a.m. and I will have to return home to relieve my sitter. I must turn my wife,in bed, every two hours for I would not want anyone to do that for me. I certainly look forward in hearing you speak.
I pray for you as you continue your journey only God has placed you in this position to yield only positive results. May your time efforts help find a cure for this dreadful disease in our life time.
