The USA Today has an article about a couple dealing with Alzheimer's disease at an early age. I had the pleasure of getting to know Marilyn and Steve several years ago when we served on an Alzheimer's committee together. They are a delightful couple and you can read about them here. http://ee.usatoday.com/SUBSCRIBERS/LandingPage/LandingPage.aspx?href=VVNBLzIwMTAvMDcvMTM.&pageno=Mzc.&entity=QXIwMzcwMQ..&view=ZW50aXR5

Thanks for all the info. I will check out there story. I hope all is well with you.
Wow, where and when to start. We are still one appointment away from final confirmation of EOAD for my wife but the local neuro is 99.9% sure, just hasn't dealt with patients in their 50's. Neuro is fairly young. Right now my wife is quite functional but just needs watching and some prodding and reminding. I am well able to handle things so far and get 2-3 hours per day to myself while she walks at the local mall. Have been busy this summer getting health care directives, wills, and POA set up, haven't really had time to think too much about hired help. Not even sure what is available (small town) but will have to get on it after vacations. Not sure how I would explain a new "friend" for her right now although she has been very compliant so far. We discuss the disease and what lies ahead but only in superficial depth.
